QuarterWorld, Where Change is Good! We are an arcade and pinball paradise, with two full bars and all types of games. Our staff takes pride in our hand-picked selection of 30+ pinball machines and 60+ arcade games, ranging from classics to contemporary.
We offer a creative assortment of cocktails, draft beers, and lots of delicious non-alcoholic drinks to pair with a hearty smash burger, a giant slice of pizza and more!

QUARTERWORD FAQ
So, do you take quarters?
Yes! Every game takes quarters and some take dollar bills. There are multiple change machines throughout the arcade, as well as ATMs inside and outside the building. The bar accepts cash and all credit cards.
When are you open?
We are currently open Wednesday-Friday from 4pm to 1am, and Saturday-Sunday from 1pm to 1am.
When are your all-ages hours?
We allow minors under 21 into the arcade from 1pm-7pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Do you serve food?
We serve food every day from open to close. Check out our menu for what to eat or drink while you’re at the arcade.
Where are you located?
We’re parked at the East end of the historic Hawthorne district, and easily accessible by foot, car, bike, or bus. Click here for directions.
Is there an entry fee?
There is a $2 entry fee on most days.
Do you sell merch/gift cards?
Yes, both! They’re available at the box office anytime we’re open.
What kind of games do you have?
We have 30+ pinball machines and 60+ arcade machines from vintage to modern! We have hundreds of games in our warehouse and change our games often, check out our game list for what’s currently at the arcade.
Where did (arcade game or pinball machine) go?
It might have gone to another bar, or back to our warehouse for repairs! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you had a favorite game at QuarterWorld and would like to see it return.
Can I rent one of your pinball machines/arcade games for my house/office?
Definitely! We have a constantly rotating Head to the Home Rentals section and send us an email.
Do you do birthday parties?
We don’t have a mechanical rat band, but our lounge is great for smaller private events, or for large groups, you can rent the whole arcade. You can even add free play for your group! Fill out this form to put in a request, and we’ll reach out.

QuarterWorld is the perfect place to host your next event! The Lounge is great for smaller groups who just want an area to themselves away from the public. Or rent the entire arcade to host an epic event! We also offer free play on most of our games via the app PayRange for a seamless, user-friendly gaming experience. Our tables are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Our private rental rates range from $225 to $500 per hour depending on how much of the arcade you want to rent and the day of the week. We don’t do private events on Fridays or Saturdays, with a few corporate exceptions. We generally require at least a 2-week notice to schedule any private event. Free play can be set up with or without a private rental, ranging from $250 to $425 per hour. For small groups under 15, it is $15/person per hour and must be set up at least 3 days in advance. Free play is not valid on any of the jukeboxes, merchandisers, or photo booth. All guests participating in free play do need access to a phone as it is done via the app PayRange.

TESSI THE MUSICAL TESLA COIL
Tessi Shows ARE ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 9PM!
Tessi is our musical Tesla Coil. Created specifically for QuarterWorld in 2015 by Zeusaphone, LLC in Chicago. Tessi is unlike your everyday Tesla coil. Normal Tesla coils use a spark gap to create the electrical bolts and sounds that you hear. Tessi uses solid state technology which allows us to control the frequency and pulse rate of the electoral bolts giving us the ability to create music. Think of the sound track to old 8-bit video games and that is kind of what Tessi sounds like.
Tessi is enclosed in a Faraday cage. A Faraday cage is a grounded metal screen surrounding Tessi to exclude electrostatic and electromagnetic influences. In other words, it keeps the bolts of electricity from shooting outside of the cage.
Coming in at around 90 decibels, Tessi is loud! She is comparable to a Monster Truck show as far as how loud she is. QuarterWorld happily provides ear plugs at both bars, the admission booth and near the stage before a performance.
